Dream come true for farmer
HOLLINGDON sheep breeders Terry and Lesley Mead are celebrating "a dream come true" at the Bucks County Show.
The couple's pedigree Southdown lamb, Honesty, was judged Reserve Supreme Show Champion.
The eight-month-old ewe also won best of breed and secured herself a home for life with Terry and Lesley's Holly Bar Flock.
"I couldn't believe it," said Terry."We're absolutely thrilled, more than chuffed, we're over the moon.
"We've been showing for 10 years and have travelled all over the country and to win like this at the Bucks Show is a dream come true."
Mother and daughter team Sylvia and Sally Evans of Heath and Reach were also among the trophy winners.
Their Shropshire ewe lamb Flower won breed reserve champion and other rosettes for the Heath End Flock included a third, two fourths and a fifth place.
Stewkley couple Neil and Pam Dickens of Red Barn Farm made it a hat trick for local sheep breeders with a winning rosette for their Jacobs ram Jack and a second placed ewe.
"We're absolutely delighted," said Neil.
