Slurp with the rest at Woburn.
The programme for the 15th Woburn Oyster Festival on September 5, 6 and 7 is now in place.

The event should start with a bang as The Barron Knights, our local group with all that experience and stamina behind them, are opening the Festival on Friday September 5 at 7.30pm on The Green, opposite The Inn at Woburn. The concert is free and there will be food and drink all evening.

On Saturday 6th the biggest Giant Flea Market yet will be at the centre of the village, starting at 10am, with the bar and entertainment on The Green and food on The Pitchings.

The free concert at 7.15pm is by Rick Stone plus the Riverside Band.

On Sunday the Funday starts at noon with street entertainment and music and dancing on The Green.

And all day Saturday and Sunday there is a funfair and craft stall in the car park in Park Street (look out for free parking signs elsewhere during the festival), an art exhibition at the school, lace-making and stalls at the Heritage Centre and other activities outside the church.

Plus oysters and a variety of other food, Champagne, Pimms, wine and beer all weekend. Any enquiries phone (01525) 290631.

Services and events at St Mary's Parish Church, Woburn, in September are as follows:

Tuesday 2nd: 7.30pm Confirmation Service.

Thursday 4th: 10am Holy Communion.

Sunday 7th: 10am Parish Eucharist; 6pm Evensong.

Sunday 14th: Parish Eucharist and Baptism; 6pm Evening Informal Worship.
