STAFF and pupils past and present gathered at Pulford Lower School in Leighton to say thanks and farewell to head teacher Jim Meager, who retires at the end of this school year.
Despite wet and windy weather the school was brimming with guests, who turned out to wish good luck to the outgoing head as well as deputy head Hilary Hastings and teacher Ali Mesley.

The guests were invited to come along with their families, bring a picnic, enjoy the festivities and to see Mr Meager and the other departing staff off in style. He was also presented with a fabulous guitar-shaped cake to mark the occasion.
