Grants available for talented sportsmen and women.
WITH Beijing having officially handed over the Olympic flag to London, it's time for the district's future Olympians to look toward 2012.

British sports men and women achieved massive success at this year's games and South Bedfordshire District Council is hoping to help build on their achievements by helping local youngsters to realise their dreams at the London 2012 games.

The council's More Active grants have already helped scores of talented young sports men and women pursue their dreams and aspirations of competing in national and international championships in sports as diverse as archery to kick boxing, dinghy sailing to swimming.

With the Olympics only four years away, talents from across the district each have the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to £300 a year to assist with expenses and equipment.
