MEMBERS of the Leighton Buzzard Children's Theatre are pictured with youth volunteers after they all received certificates from South Beds District Council acknowledging the work they do with the theatre.
Matthew Lee, 16, Tammy Oxley, 17, Daryl Humphries, 16, Vanessa Lee, 19 and Joe Parslow,17, have all been recognised for their commitment, leadership and teamwork skills.

Also honoured were Janine Nightingale, 22, who works with the LBCT youth section and is currently co- directing Fiddler on the Roof with 52 young people aged 13 to 19 from the town and surrounding area, and Eva Clark, 24, who also helps with the Youth section.

Fiddler on the Roof will be performed at the Leighton Buzzard Theatre, Lake Street, in early December in aid of Keech Cottage Hospice.

LBCT spokeswoman Sally Allsopp said that the youth volunteers were “invaluable” to the group.

“It is great to see young people working together with a common aim to help others through their own enjoyment and experience.”
