Trudy Bell, director and choreographer, is a true hero of physical theatre and Youth Speaks, with its haunting music and
disciplined young performers produced a surreal and unforgettable experience.
BUZZ came up with City of Angels - busy daily city folk depicted from early to late so intent on their own direction they walk with eyes closed and miss the suffering and squalor around them. It was pacy with polished movements as we shared the rush hour - and then the 'angels' who open their - and our - eyes . . . and perhaps our consciences.
Each piece, was introduced interview style by a teenage compère, and it gave the performers opportunity for valuable experience in self expression. Members work for The Arts Award - similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Their portfolios were on view - their goal is the Bronze Award in January leading to the Silver and Gold in the future.
For unique and highly original theatre, future performances by BUZZ are not to be missed.
